This SC BLOG(SCB) will be in an ongoing-as-items-come-up format. When I have information relative to our members and organization, I will post a similar write up. These SCBs will be archived if anyone wishes to reference them later.

We wish all our teams the best of luck and success at Nationals. When you see one of the Team Members, thank them for their dedication to our Section and good luck.

The Provincials, if you weren’t there, went very well. The weather god(ess) gave us three great days. The stages were extremely challenging and tested a wide variety of skills. If you weren’t on your game, it was a tough weekend. Thanks to Brent B and his TMSA crew for guiding the event to the successful conclusion.

The AGM was a productive 3 hour session. The new BoD was installed and have many chores to accomplish in their term of office. We have to extend our sincere thanks to the outgoing BoD who had met with unprecedented issues during their tenure. The incoming BoD will need to continue the good work done by their predecessors. I will be reporting all the pertinent information I can as we move ahead. At the end of the AGM, a CZ Shadow2 donated by Tiger Arms, Poco, was won by Don B. Don had won a gun last year, FN striker fired, and donated it for a raffle prize at the banquet, all proceeds to Richard C’s wife, Reese. Makes ya proud to be part of such a tight and warm family. Thanks Don, you showed us true sportsmanship and a path to follow.

The awards banquet was another premiere event. Everyone looked pretty good once they broke off the range crud we all accumulate during a match, classy touch. The buffet had a wide variety of items and the dessert was perfect as it had not only lots of chocolate items but also Nanaimo bars, mmmm:) Many trophies were distributed to the winners and draws including many firearms and other wonderful accessories donated by our generous sponsors. Support them as strongly as they do IPSC BC and say thanks when you see them. It comes around next year at the Provincials. Which, BTW, will be in Kamloops BC, as announced. Plan now to be there on the Labour Day weekend, Aug31-Sep02.2018.

I will be attending the IPSC Canada National Executive Council(NEC) meeting in Calgary this month and will report back any news relative to our members. Once I return from Nationals we will better be able to plan for 2018 RO Courses, Training Course Instructor seminars and more. Our BoD has a meeting Nov04.17 in Poco. From that meeting planning will be more focused. We can then go after 2018 to be a more successful year than ever before.

I am encouraged by the new BoD’s enthusiasm to promote IPSC BC during their terms of office. Check our page
