We are pleased to announce that our new website is now live at ipscbc.com. We hope you enjoy the new look and improvements that have been optimized to work with all your devices including your phone and tablet.
If you are looking for the latest information about IPSC, we have a new and improved news system on a dedicated page as well as a latest news feed on the homepage. Be sure to check here often for updates about our organization. Even better, stay signed up to our email newsletter and you will receive all of the latest news in your inbox as soon as it’s published.
We have also migrated our forum over to a new system, but not to worry, all of your posts are still there. There are a few steps however to get you back up and running smoothly.
With this migration, your current password will no longer work and you will need to reset it, probably a good time anyway. Please follow the link below to access the reset password screen. Your username is most likely your IPSC ID or you can try your email address. If you’re having issues resetting your password, send an email to email@example.com and we’ll look you up.
Once you reset your password, you will receive an email to your inbox with the address that is on file with our membership database. The email will be from firstname.lastname@example.org, check your spam folder if you do not get the email in 15 minutes, and make sure to whitelist that email address form now on. Follow the instructions in the email to reset your password. Once you have done that, you can access our members only areas as well as the forums.
First, head over to your profile page and update any information that may be out of date. You may be prompted to change your Nickname, if so, go ahead and change it. Don’t forget to upload a photo of yourself as well.
When you first view the forum, you will notice that all of the messages have been marked as “unread” in bold. If you would like to change that, go to the bottom of the forum page and you will see a link with a checkmark to “Mark all read”. This means that only new posts from this point forward will be highlighted.
Any forum topics and posts you have subscribed to have also been reset, and will need to be reactivated. Head on over to your profile from the sidebar and click on your activity tab to see a full list of your posts in one place. You can either resubscribe to your favourite forums by navigating to them, and clicking on the subscribe link, or you can manually select topics and posts under the subscriptions tab in your profile.
We are currently updating our membership system to a new system that will include online payments and renewals, we hope this will make for a smoother renewal process come next year. As well, the match calendar is undergoing some changes to work with our new membership system, and will be back up and running as soon as possible with more improvements.
If you are having any issues or problems with the new site, be sure to post a message in the forum topic Suggestions and Fixes, and we’ll do our best to fix it in a timely manner.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing your feedback on the new online presence of IPSC BC!
