To All Competitors of the 2026 IPSC BC Provincials,
With a heavy heart, we are announcing that the 2026 IPSC BC Provincials, originally scheduled for August, have been postponed to September 26th and 27th, 2026, due to the ongoing wildfire situation in British Columbia.
This was not an easy decision. We understand the time, preparation, travel, and anticipation that goes into a match of this size, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s commitment.
With active fires in the region and conditions capable of changing quickly, we do not feel it is responsible to bring competitors, range staff, volunteers, and their families into an area where wildfire and smoke may pose a safety or health concern. The well-being of our members and the entire IPSC community must come first.
We would also like to sincerely thank the Abbotsford Fish & Game Club for giving up its previously scheduled match date to make the September 26th and 27th dates available for the rescheduled Provincials. Their flexibility and support have helped make this postponement possible.
The Provincials will now be a two-day match, running Saturday and Sunday rather than the originally planned three days. This change will help accommodate the new dates and circumstances, and based on the number of competitors currently registered, we are confident we can run the match successfully over two days.
Accommodation: The match hotel and Goldpanner Campground are both aware of the postponement. Competitors are asked to contact the hotel/campground directly to rebook their accommodations for the new September dates. Please do this as soon as possible to ensure you can secure your accommodation.
We know this change may cause inconvenience and disappointment, and we truly apologize. However, we believe this is the right decision and hope you understand that it was made with the best interests of our members and our entire IPSC community at heart.
We look forward to welcoming everyone on September 26th and 27th, when we hope conditions will allow us to come together safely and enjoy the match we have all been preparing for.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support of IPSC BC. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves and your families during this wildfire season.
We look forward to seeing you in September.
