Mac Corrie
I am thankful to accept the nomination for that of Section Coordinate for IPSC BC and would like to share a bit of information about myself and the goals that I have for our organization moving forward.
Shooting Background
I received my Black Badge in 2015 and have been a very active member since 2016 and have met many of you at the matches I have attended. During that time I have tried each year to make it out to as many of our Provinces matches as possible, which typically exceeds 20 in a shooting year. I have also had the pleasure of shooting Provincials in other Provinces across Canada, most recently shooting the Saskatchewan Provincials. I have also been honored to represent BC on the Standard Team and will be doing so again this year. I have attended many National Championships across the country and will be heading out later this week to compete in Taber, Alberta on the Gold Team. I feel that this has allowed me to witness first hand the uniqueness that each Club/Province has to offer in regards to their matches and has provided experience to me as a shooter in observing things that we may want to consider here in BC. It has exposed me to many different shooters, Directors and Section Coordinators and allowed me to hear their thoughts and ideas about IPSC and how things are looked after.
I have been a Zone Director and was the Membership Coordinator and have worked with numerous individuals as Directors and Section Coordinators in the past, which has given me a broad knowledge as to how the Board operates. I have a very good understanding of each of the roles within our organization and the history as to how those roles have evolved over the years. I have been able to see what has been successful as well as unsuccessful during my time on the board, which has provided me the insight as to where I can make changes to improve things moving forward.
Professional Background
I have an MBA and currently manage several truck dealerships. Within these dealerships I proudly lead and manage more than 40 employees.
In my spare time and off season, I coach junior high basketball and take great pride in seeing the players grow and develop as young adults, I find it very rewarding.
My Goals
- I would like to ensure that we continue to grow our sport, despite the very challenging political climate we are currently in. We continue to need ambassadors of our sport and by being present at our matches this makes me accessible to our members.
- I would like to promote as many other disciplines that we are still able to shoot, so as to provide alternatives to handgun and PCC as that environment continues to evolve.
- I want to ensure that our members are represented and treated fairly and that all members are treated with respect. There are rules and principles that we must follow to ensure that this happens.
- I want to ensure that our members feel comfortable in approaching myself, listening to them, their ideas and things we can improve upon. I am open to listening and bringing ideas forward as I want to do my best to move our sport forward.
- Ensure there is transparency between the board and the members, as we are in our respective positions to serve our members.
- I want to ensure that we continue to support our Match Directors, hopefully even bringing new clubs and Match Directors on board so as to increase matches throughout the Province. This would allow our members more dates and places to compete in. I love to teach, so finding a way to ensure knowledge is shared with our members as needed.

Jay Hedden
As someone deeply committed to the success of IPSC in British Columbia, I am putting my name forward to serve as your Section Coordinator. My vision is clear: bring people together, reduce unnecessary conflict, and support acompetitive shooting environment that’s welcoming to everyone.
My journey in IPSC began in 2018. Like many of you, I was hooked from the moment I started. But I didn’t just want to shoot, I wanted to give back and help the sport grow.
As soon as I could, I took the Range Officer (RO) course, followed by the Chief Range Officer (CRO) course. I am currently enrolled in the Range Master (RM) Program, which reflects my commitment to high-level officiating and match quality.
I have served as a Match Director for 5 consecutive years, organizing and overseeing competitions with fairness, safety, and shooter experience in mind. I started hosting matches at the Cherryville Club to give IPSC BC another active range tohold competitions and promote the sport. These efforts weren’t about personal recognition, they were about building something lasting for the community.
From setting up stages to resolving issues behind the scenes, I’ve seen every side of this sport. That hands-on knowledge, combined with a genuine love for IPSC and a desire to make things better, is what I will bring to the table as your Section Coordinator.
I believe that the future of IPSC in our province depends on three main things:
- Equality – Everyone deserves a fair, inclusive, and respectful place to participate and compete.
- Communication – Clear and transparent communication at all levels builds trust and ensures everyone feels heard.
- Removing the drama – When politics and personal disputes are minimized, we can return our full focus to the sport we all love.
Why Equality Matters
IPSC BC is built on the dedication of volunteers, athletes, and clubs from diverse backgrounds. Equality means ensuring opportunities for new shooters to grow without cliques or politics getting in the way. I will support all members, regardless of location, experience level, or social connections. I will advocate for equal match allocations, transparent selection processes for major events, and continued outreach to make IPSC more accessible to everyone in the province.
Improving Communication
We cannot grow unless we’re all moving in the same direction and that requires open and reliable communication. As Section Coordinator, I will work to improve member communication to reduce frustration, increase involvement, and help build a stronger sport from the ground up.
Time to End the Drama
One of the biggest barriers we face as a community is internal conflict and division. While disagreements are part of any organization, ongoing drama, personal disputes, and behind-the-scenes power struggles are hurting our progress. We need to create a culture of professionalism, respect, and shared responsibility. I will hold leadership, including myself, accountable to the membership.
By stepping away from the drama and toward constructive leadership, we can make IPSC BC stronger than ever. This isn’t just about one person, it’s about all of us. If you vote for me as Section Coordinator, you’re voting for a shift in culture. You’re voting for calm, clarity, and collaboration. You’re voting for someone who will put the sport first, before ego, before politics, and before personal interest. Let’s get back to what matters, a safe, competitive, challenging, and fun shooting sport for everyone in British Columbia.
